Brickskeller and Ritz Carlton

Jackie was visiting this weekend and on Saturday we met up with a couple of her friends at Brickskeller, which is a bar with over 500 beers from around the world. The menu sorts them by country. At first I played it safe and ordered some German beers. After two I was feeling more adventurous and decided I would pick a beer from a country that I could not point to on a map. I chose Trinidad. It was called Carib and it was a light beer. It wasn't the best but at least I cultured myself a little.

Walking back to the Metro (nanny nanny poo poo New York!), Jackie and I had to go to the bathroom. There was a Ritz Carlton on the way. For those who remember our adventures in Boston last year, you know what's coming up. They had quality towels and toilet paper. There were a few differences this time. For one, they didn't have paper towels, they had real cloth towels that you throw into a hamper. Sweet. Also, in Boston there was some sincere desperation since the managers of the place we were staying at couldn't afford to satisfy their need for pot and the customer's need for soap and paper towels. This time it was just for fun.

My computer at home is broken so I'm writing this entry from work (during lunch of course). I'll be home in three days where I'll need to jam a lot of work and play into my week. Call me if you'll be around!

Of all the things, you have to blog about beer, my lost love... someday they'll invent a bionic liver that you can program to keep you at a 3-4 beer buzz no matter how much you drink. Until then, I have NA, hahaha... so where's my damn christmas card?
