I'm alive! And so is this blog

I must admit I have been a sub-par blogger this month. I figured I should do an update before the end of July so that there's no gap in my archiving.

As for the rest of my trip home last month, it was great. Alisa's wedding was wonderful and it was good to see people from high school. I even caught the bouquet. Go me! I crammed about two weeks worth of Palo Alto things into four days and felt very fulfilled by the end.

This time I can say more honestly that I haven't been blogging because I haven't had time. I feel like I'm barely home and when I am, I'm sleeping. Hence you should be happy for me...I have more of a social life now.

Things since I've last blogged:
  • For Fourth of July, I went to the dress rehearsal performance of A Capitol Fourth which is on the lawn in front of the Capitol and we got to see the (fake) Beach Boys, Gloria Estefan, The O'Jays and some other random performers all for FREE!

  • I've been to three National's games since I last blogged and one was in Philly! (Cool stadium there.)

  • Went to Hershey Park last weekend with Jackie. 'Twas fabulous and the chocolate was plentiful and cheap! A squeezy thing of chocolate syrup was under $2. And they also carried stuff that you can't find in normal stores. Obviously, I stocked up. The main road through the town is called Chocolate Avenue and the street lights are all shaped like Hershey Kisses.

  • Got a new phone and it's from this century. For those of you who aren't familiar with my old phone, it looked like it was from 1990. I spent yesterday morning keying in over 50 phone numbers set up my contact list. I'll be sending out an email with my new number. I could have kept the old one, but I get calls about owing Bally's Total Fitness money everyday. Bastards.

  • Had my random/small world moment of the year. Four years ago when I was home for spring break with my friend Rachel freshman year, we were visiting Alisa at Stanford and we started talking to this girl in her dorm. We told her we were going to Bucknell and it turned out she was from Lewisburg. A couple weeks later was Houseparty and I saw her there since she was on spring break. Then she and Rachel both went abroad to London and ended up roommates. Then this past Thursday after softball, she was at the bar and saw our table full of people wearing Bucknell stuff and started talking to us. Bizarre!

  • My cousin Aaron has started a blog and written seven entries. Yay Aaron! I'm trying to make sure he doesn't become a communist, because nobody likes communists.

Dammit Jane, haven't you ever seen "The Majestic"? Being too fervently anti-communist can actually breed some very un-American results. Anyhow, great to see that you've udated. I would have liked to see your old cell phone. One of my friends in the Marines had this old ass cell phone that could have doubled as a night stick, this thing was huge. As far as catching the bouquet, if there's any truth to that superstition then maybe there really is a guy out there who's looking for an un-nurturing smartass tpe like yourself (I mean that in the best way, really). Glad we got back in touch with each other, you've been much more intellectually stimulating than my other friends have been lately, considering all they want to do is play goddam World of Warcraft.
