Bucknell Bison: Bracket Messers of 2005
Wow, wow, wow. As you've probably heard by now, Bucknell was the victor in the biggest upset of the NCAA bball tournament. I proudly wore my Bucknell stuff today and a couple people even came up and congratulated me. I thanked them and told them I hoped it didn't mess up their brackets too much. I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing "Bucknell" on the foxnews.com headlines and all over espn.com. I'll be rooting my heart out tomorrow at the Wisconsin game. We'll see if Bucknell can extend this 15 minutes of fame.
My favorite part of the whole thing:
"Alas, the Bucknell band wasn't part of the fun. They were off for spring break and couldn't be gathered in time to make it here, so the Northern Iowa crew filled in. They were faxed sheet music earlier Friday, received a box of orange Bucknell T-shirts when they got to the area and did a great job leading what grew to be a legion of fans."
Yes, that's right, they had to borrow a band.

True dat. I got confused when I saw the band wasn't wearing the typical pep band outfit, so I called my friend Johnny O, who is in pep band, and he told me that he didn't know why, but it was definately a fake bucknell pep band. Hilarious.

I like how the excuse was that Bucknell's band 'couldn't be gathered in time' because they were all on spring break. Ummm...I think we had a pretty good idea we'd be going to the tourney before spring break. Bucknell probably just didn't want to send them because our admin could care less about pep/marching bands. I hope this embarrasses them into actually investing some effort into, I don't know, something that doesn't have the word 'orchestra' in front of it. Kudos to our pep band members, because I think they get zilch support.
Bucknell love,
Dawn
dude they get zero support because they aren't that good. at the big basketball celebration they played and guess what: there are more lewisburg high school students in the bucknell pep band than bucknell students.
