Only 3 more days with the roaches

News:
  • Denise and I are moving this weekend! I just posted an ad on craigslist for my bed. I have to downsize to a full. I will be sad to see my IKEA bed go, but it was even too big for my room now.
  • I'm in second place out of 78 people in the office March Madness pool! If Illinois and UNC go to the final and Illinois wins, I get $270. Please root for teams accordingly!
  • I went up to Bucknell this weekend instead of going to NYC. It's an easier and cheaper trip and there was a BUCC "Make like the French and" retreat which I couldn't pass up. I think I laughed for two hours straight at one point. My favorite part was watching AK do a feminazi impression by holding a burning bra that Dominic! bought at Wal Mart and yelling "CUNT! I HATE MEN! VAGINA! I DON'T WANT SUPPORT FOR MY BREASTS!" as Nate took pictures for the Counterweight.
  • On Easter, Jackie made an Easter egg hunt for me. My first one in years!! It was actually more of a treasure hunt with the final prize being a LOT of candy. Then I drove over to State College for Easter dinner at my cousin's where I got ever more candy. I saw my aunt and uncle, plus met a cousin I had never met. I still have a boat load to go though.

Annoying gym moment: I had to wait for a treadmill. I finally get one, but it was the crappy one and it puts me next to this weird guy who hit on me a few months ago ("Hey, you look familiar, do you go to TC Williams High?" Nice try.) So I get on and notice he's been running for 34 minutes. The limit is clearly stated on signs as being 30 min. If this guy had followed the rules, I would have gotten a good treadmill and wouldn't have had to awkwardly run next to someone who thinks I look like I'm in highschool.

Bucknell Bison: Bracket Messers of 2005

Wow, wow, wow. As you've probably heard by now, Bucknell was the victor in the biggest upset of the NCAA bball tournament. I proudly wore my Bucknell stuff today and a couple people even came up and congratulated me. I thanked them and told them I hoped it didn't mess up their brackets too much. I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing "Bucknell" on the foxnews.com headlines and all over espn.com. I'll be rooting my heart out tomorrow at the Wisconsin game. We'll see if Bucknell can extend this 15 minutes of fame.

My favorite part of the whole thing:

"Alas, the Bucknell band wasn't part of the fun. They were off for spring break and couldn't be gathered in time to make it here, so the Northern Iowa crew filled in. They were faxed sheet music earlier Friday, received a box of orange Bucknell T-shirts when they got to the area and did a great job leading what grew to be a legion of fans."

Yes, that's right, they had to borrow a band.

Happy Ides of March!

I completely forgot about Pi Day yesterday. Such a travesty. I was reminded when I woke up this morning to Peetie's IM about a Pi Day party she had. Pie eating and all. I missed out :(.

Denise and I are moving at the beginning of April! No more roaches! No more mice! Clean carpet! No more vacuum sitting in the kitchen ready to suck up those little twerps! And we'll be closer to downtown Arlington which means closer to work and the metro. Janie's excited.

For the first time ever I'm joining a March Madness pool at work. I have no idea what I'm doing so this is probably $5 down the shitter, but it'll be fun to have a reason to root for teams. Any tips are welcome.

Work has started to pick up a bit which is good because Bucknell is on Spring Break so I have fewer away messages and BUCC listserv emails to read. I came across someone named Junko who lives in Sammamish, WA and a Fan Fan. I brought in two boxes of fudge mint covered oreos to work today and they were gone by lunch! I felt so loved. Though I must admit I ate 7 of them.

I realize I've been a slacker when it comes to updating my blog and there is no excuse for this. It is my mid-march resolution to do better at this.
